The Story
In the summer of 2002, viewing audiences were teased by images of a seductive and feline woman prowling the dark alleys of a crime-riddled city of grime and dinginess. Accompanied by text offering the woman as the daughter of two legends, wondering what would have happened if the crimefighter and the criminal shared a secret? These commercials were the beginning taste of what would become a popular cult show in the fall on The WB - Birds of Prey. In the dark and dangerous world of New Gotham City, three women come together to discover their destiny, united by justice and their bond as friends and a make-shift family. Fans fell in love with the trials and tribulations that Oracle, Huntress and Dinah faced together .
The Character's
Oracle
For years, Barbara Gordon fought crime in a cape and mask as Batgirl, sidekick to Gotham City’s caped crusader, Batman, also known as Bruce Wayne. After a bullet from the Joker’s gun left her paralyzed, she now fights from behind a computer desk, having focused on becoming a master of cybernetics and weaponry. The technological guru, now self-dubbed ‘Oracle’, has pushed even harder than before for motivation to be a heroine in the dark city, and has taken up residence in the Clock tower to help train her young protégées, Helena Kyle and Dinah Lance.

Huntress
Helena Kyle is the daughter of two legends -- Gotham City’s caped crusader, Batman, and the majesty of its criminal underworld, Catwoman. Together, Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle shared a forbidden love, and an even darker secret. After watching her mother gunned down by the Joker’s men and the subsequent abandonment by her father, Helena was taken in by Barbara Gordon. She began to train under Barbara to help fight crime, combining her father’s strength and her mother’s feral traits to kick ass.
Metahuman Abilities: Superior strength, speed, agility; enhanced sight
5’9”, Brunette, Blue Eyes, Very slender. The metahuman abilities manifest themselves by giving Helena cat-like eyes for night vision as well as the superior strength and speed. She also has the ability to purr, growl and yowl like cats.
Canary
From the time she was young, Dinah Lance has had the trademark nightmares that haunted her mother, though the elder Lance denies this past. One fateful night, Dinah had a dream of two women injured, unaware that she had psychically witnessed the shooting of Barbara Gordon and the stabbing of Selina Kyle. Years later, she is drawn to New Gotham, running from the family who cannot accept her and seeking the women she knows hold the keys to her future.
